About this Species

Pierella lena is a medium-sized satyr with a very unique wing shape and a beautiful blue-grey coloration. It is a 'leaf-mimic' on its underside but reveals its subtle beauty when its wings open.

Habitat

Common in secondary forests and cacao plantations where it flies near the ground.
