About this Species

Cithaerias aurorina is one of the most ethereal butterflies in the Amazon. Its wings are almost completely transparent, lacking most scales, except for a beautiful glowing pink or rose patch on the hindwings that seems to float in mid-air.

Habitat

Deep, shaded forest floor of the primary rainforest where it flies low among the leaf litter.
