About this Species

Cithaerias pyropina is a slightly larger phantom butterfly. It features the signature transparency of its group but with a more subtle blue-violet or lavender iridescent glow on the hindwings.

Habitat

Undisturbed primary forests, particularly in the humid regions of Loreto and San Martín.
