About this Species

Pereute callinira is a striking montane butterfly. Its underside features complex patterns of black and white which serve as camouflage against the lichen-covered bark of Andean forest trees.

Habitat

Restricted to the temperate forest zones of the Andes at elevations between 1500 and 2500 meters.

Sustainability First

At Kukusa, we only deal with specimens from sustainable butterfly farms in Peru. Each purchase supports local conservation efforts and rural livelihoods.
