About this Species

Morpho rhetenor helena is perhaps the most famous of all rare butterflies. Its wings feature a white band that perfectly accents its deep, electric-blue structural color. It is a symbol of the untamed and mystical beauty of the Amazon.

Habitat

High jungle areas of Peru and Brazil, rarely seen and extremely difficult to capture.

Sustainability First

At Kukusa, we only deal with specimens from sustainable butterfly farms in Peru. Each purchase supports local conservation efforts and rural livelihoods.
