About this Species

The Lavinia Emperor is characterized by a slightly more purple-violet iridescence on its dorsal wings. Like other Doxocopa, they are drawn to moisture and can often be found drinking from muddy paths.

Habitat

High jungle (Selva Alta) and cloud forest edges, especially in the Junín and San Martín regions.
