About this Species
Asterope markii davisii is an exquisite butterfly with deep iridescent blue on the dorsal side, bordered by bright orange rays. The genus name Asterope means 'star-faced', referring to their brilliant appearance.
Habitat
Found in the humid forests of eastern Peru, often near water sources where they search for minerals.
