About this Species
Asterope degandii is characterized by its broad, velvety blue wings. It belongs to the 'Glory' group of butterflies, known for their rapid flight and preference for over-ripe fruit fallen on the forest floor.
Habitat
Lowland rainforests, usually below 500m elevation, throughout eastern Peru.
