About this Species

Perisama bomplandii is an elegant butterfly part of the Nymphalidae family. Its deep black wings are contrasted with vibrant metallic blue-green structural colors that appear most brilliant when catching the light. It is one of the most desired species of the Perisama genus for its delicate beauty and rarity.

Habitat

Humid and temperate forests of the Andes (1800m - 2500m), particularly in central Peru.
