About this Species

Panacea prola is a spectacular species. Its dorsal wings feature an incredible blue-green iridescence, but the real surprise is its brilliant red underside, which it uses as a startle defense against predators.

Habitat

Often found puddling in groups of hundreds along the rivers of the Peruvian Amazon.

Sustainability First

At Kukusa, we only deal with specimens from sustainable butterfly farms in Peru. Each purchase supports local conservation efforts and rural livelihoods.
