About this Species

Heliconius telesiphe is an exceptionally beautiful longwing. It is part of a complex mimicry ring in the Andes, mimicking some unpalatable pierid butterflies to avoid predation.

Habitat

Lower mountain forests and cloud forest transition zones in Peru.
