About this Species

Eurytides serville, commonly known as the Serville Swordtail, is a large and impressive butterfly of the Papilionidae family native to the tropical and cloud forests of South America.

it is found in the foothills of the Andes and the lowland forests of the Amazon. Like many other members of its genus, it possesses long, sword-like tails on its hindwings that are a marvel of natural engineering. The wings show a complex pattern of white, black and greenish hues, which help it blend with the dappled light of the forest floor.

All our specimens are legally obtained and carefully prepared to ensure their natural luster and delicate structure.
