About this Species
Eunica eurota belongs to the purplewing group. In certain lights, its dark wings reveal a stunning purple or violet sheen, a defense mechanism to startle predators in the forest canopy.
Habitat
Humid rainforests, particularly near the foothills of the Andes in northern Peru.
