About this Species

Colobura dirce, known as the Dirce Beauty or Mosaic, is famous for its intricate 'zebra-striped' underside. When at rest on tree trunks, it usually sits head-downwards, perfectly camouflaged against the bark.

Habitat

Secondary forests, plantations, and forest edges throughout Peru.

Sustainability First

At Kukusa, we only deal with specimens from sustainable butterfly farms in Peru. Each purchase supports local conservation efforts and rural livelihoods.
