About this Species

Caligo memnon features a more velvety, dark coloration on its wings compared to other members of the genus. Its 'owl eyes' are particularly prominent and serve as a highly effective defense against birds.

Habitat

Found in both wet and dry tropical forests, usually in the more pristine regions of the Amazon.
